all well thus far - toronto was the best gig yet - full club happy folks - springtime in canada=bears emerging from hibernation and ready for fun. mac took a liking to one of my new tunes and through peasy requested i play it at soundcheck which made me extra nervous knowing he was listening in... he gave me two tongue twisters to work on in spare time "the Leith police have dissmisseth us" as well as the old "i took a big brown pup up upon upper parliament street" which i told him id remembered him singing on an old bootleg maybe sfx dublin 86 or was it new live and rare - anyway - its always strange to remind someone of something they said 24 years ago thats been in your head ever since. after cleveland will played some tunes on his laptop through an amp in the backstage and after wine and merriment it turned into a youtube party like you might have with friends at home playing cool songs - mighty baby, chris farlowe, big boy pete, syd barrett and all those good garage nuggets tunes. Must say everyone has been kind... as the band was sleeping on the bus we got to use their day use hotel rooms to sleep in in toronto - i got ians room... 4 stubbed marlboros were all the evidence left by the man -(sadly yes i took a picture of the ashtray) i was told if you have any trouble with the hotel , just tell em your ian mcculloch! so one random late night call i answered in my best scouse, alas they hung up-------- anyway more as it comes....

This is life changing stuff. Despite my usual bitter, whiny demeanor I am genuinely happy for Kelly.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts
