With all due respect to JackT I'm prepared to declare that quote of the year.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Frank The Bunny wrote:Interesting that a man who's done everything he could to destroy his voice and vocal range through decades of abuse now refers to his previous (good) voice as "cringe-worthy and over the top"

Sometimes you have to convince yourself of the lie, I suppose.

He calls his old voice cringe-worthy? Anybody who's heard him attempt the high sustained notes in Ocean Rain over the past several years knows what cringe-worthy is... and it ain't his old voice.

i prefer his post reunion vocal. his voice could be a bit anoying on the early albums whereas now it's matured into a good voice
A kite is a contract of glory
that must be made with the sun,
so you make friends with the field
the river and the wind,
then you pray the whole cold night before,
under the travelling cordless moon,
to make you worthy and lyric and pure.

You tit
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

No. That was when he was all impressed by Richard Ashcroft. Can't you see?

Then of course the R.A. phase soon caught on with other singers. James "Ra ra" Blunt was snapped out on the town. Asked about his new look, he couldn't resist name checking the great man himself. Blunt said "Ocean Rain was always my favourite album. Thorn of Crowns is a spiffing tune, what what."
