Nick Drake?

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Nick Drake?

I'd heard the buzz about him, listened to just one of his songs (not a good one) and thought he was a bit depressing. Then I heard "Black Eyed Dog" which is almost as good as some of the songs by my favourite new singers. Can someone tell me more about this guy?

made a coulpe of albums, didn't sell, depressed - as in properly, not just a bit fed up - topped himself. Thirty years on everyone says how brilliant he is.

I would suggest giving " Way to Blue: An introduction to Nick Drake " a listen... It's a pretty darn fine compilation, I quite like him.... Brad Pitt recorded a documentry for Radio Two a few years ago, he's a huge fan...

More of a John Martyn fan myself
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

I'd wondered about him as well. Can't say I've ever heard an original. Sebadoh does a fantastic cover of Pink Moon I think it is.

I've heard the music described as haunting, heartbreaking and beautiful.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts
