In an era of downloading and flat music sales, I guess this gives older rock musicians ways to cash in on their glory days without having to play shitty little bars constantly and hoping people still care and show up.

I made the mistake of buying Peter Hook's Revenge cds. Gad. Talk about singing via the spoken word format.

I can't imagine his singing voice/style has gotten any better.

Maybe he hasn't saved any money (either) and is trying to cash in on the perform the album in full trend.

wonder who he's getting to sing. Or is it him? Wouldn't mind seeing this, though it'd have more credibility if it was new order - but not going all the way to manchester for the pleasure, unknown or otherwise (ho ho, that didn't really work out did it, pun-wisee). Still cant make my mind up about going to his spoken word thing he's doing with that drug seller bloke. As for why and what he's up to - I think he's a bit like Will, finding ways to occupy himself and make money whilst probably having a good time doing it without all those other blokes getting on your nerves. He's another DJ type isn't he. Then theres the book. Anyone bought that? A couple of excerpts I read sounded just like talking to one of your mates about all the brilliant times he had years ago when you were off doing something else.

Part of the reason behind the decision is his annoyance that Curtis hasn't been officially commemorated, exacerbated when a proposed exhibition in his hometown of Macclesfield fell through due to lack of funding. "I'm sick of people saying they're going to celebrate Ian and it falling through, so I thought, 'Fuck it, I'll do it…'"

The one-off concert, to be held in Manchester on 18 May, is not be confused with Hook's Evening of Unknown Pleasures tour, which begins next week

i see he's hawking it around a bit now. playing glorious goodwood (wtf???) with an orchestra too!!!!!! you can even get tee shirts. THough I'm glad i didn't get a one night only exclusive ticket and tee combo gift set for my birthday like mrs cherry threatened to do. what would that be worth now eh?

He's also started a band with Andy Rourke of the Smiths and another bass player. They all play bass. Can't for the life of me remember what it's called. Perhaps "Weird As Shit" as an homage to Will Sergeant's Weird as Fish.

I'm telling you, Will's the smartest out of any of them getting all arty and selling his prints online.

In any case, kids in bands ought to be warned to hang onto their money as best they can. I'll bet you Les and Will both did. Martin Gore started buying property. Smart. Drug habits=not smart.
