yes, thats right, naked. But you can calm down now. I mean the novel by Nick Hornby.
Anyone read this? Standard Hornby stuff and not his best but entertaining enough. When I say its standard stuff I mean all that relationships stuff he does - in his usual style of bits of dialog or action interspersed with pontification on, well, what its all about. The only reason I thought it might be of interest around here is that one of the characters is a singer who suddenly packed it all in 20 years ago, and another is an obsessive fan who has a website (its OK, Mr Brian, I'm not drawing any comparisons) and spends his time discussing the minutae of the lyrics and the reasons why the blokes never been seen for 20 years. And then a copy of a new release comes into his posession - the acoustic demos of the blokes most famous album - Juliet, hence Juliet, Naked. geddit, and thats when it all kicks off. So anyway, theres also stuff about the fan/artist relationship and, just for good measure the fan vs artist relationship with their work. Wow. Anyway, haven't really given much away there, but if I mention the love interest thrown into the mix with the usual uber-sensible female character (he always has one of those, I think he's scared to have a witless stupid or selfish female character), you could probably write it yourself, so I wont.
