The last time I saw them live, for the remasters/anniversary tour, Will started playing The Puppet and Mac looked at him with murder in his eyes.

It would have been cool if Will had said "Bring it, bitch", then hit him in the forehead with his guitar. People would still be talking about that.

Let's all start speculating on a Porcupine tour and the b-side/Electrafixion set that won't be played!

Hysterical. Will's way of poking fun.
I long for the pork of Porcupine. (A slide show dedicated mostly to Will right here.... http://www.examiner.com/rock-music-in-l ... -here-tour)

Any chance that Mac will sing "No Dark Things?" -That would be worth going for whatever the quality of his voice! As for "A Promise" I used to play that to death but now I prefer "I'll Fly Tonight" , "SuperMellowMan" and particularly "Flaming Red."
Since "SuperMellowMan" required minimal vocal effort from Mac but with tremendous results, I don't know why they don't do this song at every show.
Mac was right to some extent when he said "you don't have to shout" to make a great song-Leonard Cohen or James Yorkston prove that, though (to put it mildly) James did have some "pretty cool" backing singers on the Culture show singing "Tortoise Regrets Hare."
But in the case of Mac he seems to have forgot that you have to be one hell of a songwriter to overcome a limited vocal range, and he just can't keep up the effort to overcome his self-imposed smoking related "disability."
I will go to the shows however because it might be an unexpected, heart wrenching triumph like the Flowers tour, or it might be the ultimate humiliation of a once great talent, which is interesting from a pathological perspective-like watching a train wreck. I suppose it might just be "adequate", like Live in Liverpool, but with such great songs probably a bit better.
Personally I think the only way Mac could pull this off would be to get Thom Yorke and Richard Ashcroft as backing singers, because he used to have the range of both these singers combined.

mime/lip synch. perhaps he's just discovered that after all these years. It will be justified because he'll also start doing dance routines as pioneered by the likes of Madonna and Michael Jackson back in the 1980s and more recently by Lada (get my norks out yeah yeah yeah) Gaga and Cheryl (are you looking at me? are you looking at me? ....thwack) Cole nee Tweedy, even adopting one of those little microphones thats attached to your head and doing that movement where you flick your elbow out at the same time as tipping your head over at right angles. Will and the band will start wearing crash helmets and american football padding just in case they accidentally get in the way. After all, they've been in a dressing room with him and know better than to get in the way when the tia marias being bandied around.

After careful deliberation I have decided to give it a miss.
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

Come one Scouser. After missing Alan at the DM show you gotta take a chance at one of these shows. If nothing else just to hear No Dark Things would be worth it.

Shit. Simple Stuff isn't on the original version of Crocodiles.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts
