Psychedelic Furs 2010 North American tour

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

His voice is still excellent (way better than a certain Mr. McCulloch's), and they still do put on a great show. Supposedly, they really are working on new material now, but they've been saying that for 10 years at least, so who knows?

Last time I saw them ... in September ... I was surprised at the number of hipster kids in the audience, tho they could've been there for She Wants Revenge or the Happy Mondays (?). And looks like this isn't one of those oldies package tours they've signed onto the last few years either. Going out again with She Wants Revenge.

But you're right, they rarely if ever seem to be cited as an influence on current bands. Can't overcome the New Wave tag?

Was it the keyboards, the sax or the marimbas that got them?

they do seem to keep doing the 80s hits tour.... but they always put on a great show. and richard really dances around the stage and looks like he's having a blast up there. and yesm they still sound great. i've seen them a bunch of times recently (within the last 5-6 yrs) because they almost always do a Philly stop on their tours... i think Tim Butler lives near Philly (only heard rumor, don't know for a fact).

but here is some evidence:

i recorded this video in dec 06 with a crappy digital camera. one of my favorite songs by them, but it was the song they opened with, so the beginning got cut off.

Wow, he sounds about the same. Good for him. I just remembered how great their songs were. this is from 2009. They actually kept going into the 1990s, but the grunge sort of killed everything off.

How unprofessional. I always switch my (un-crappy) camera on as soon as the band gets on stage. But with a four hour battery and 200 hours HD on the drive I can afford to.

She Wants Revenge did a fantastic cover of Love My Way at the Black Francis charity show. I never liked them but their cover of that song and the UK Surf version of Wave of Mutilation were pretty rad. So I suppose the there are bands that have been influenced by the Furs.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts
