Overrated bands

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Sigh ... I know ... but it doesn't have to be that way! they have come up with a couple new songs -- and they're pretty good, and they keep promising a new album, but where is it?

I love the old stuff, but I'd love to hear what they have to say now too. They're older, wiser and have different perspectives. And that's not just the Furs -- that's any band that gets back together. The latest one I'm jazzed about is the Mary Chain. Already, two new songs, plus an album in the works. Excellent!

As to Dave Matthews ... no thanks! Still my brother Ned's music of choice, unfortunately, altho I did try to sway him to the Bunnymen last time I was at his house. He quite liked what he heard ... said it reminded him of Talking Heads

That's why I sack ride Frank Black. He keeps evolving and adding new dimensions to his music. He is getting better with age.

The furs have it in them. But will a label take the chance is the question. The music biz sucks.

it's a clip from the meet the bunnymen thing and he is describing how they do a show and keeping the vibe going... basically how they are *up here* then slow it down a little *down here* then back *up here* it just made me laugh.

you can watch it here

It's been a while but...

I like Sleater-Kinney and all but they are way overrated.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Well after purchasing In Rainbows (now that it is out as an actual CD) I'd have to say Radiohead...I own all their albums and they all have their moments but they are far from the greatest thing since sliced bread.

And I'd have to say: Arcade Fire, The Decemberists, New Pornographers, Broken Social Scene, Modest Mouse (God, that "singer" sucks), LCD Soundsystem etc...

I was let down by In Rainbows, but seem to be in the minority on that.
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

You're not.Same old Radiohead by numbers. And as for this 'lets give the fans the album for free'-they made £2m from downloads and are now selling the cd to the same fans again.Concert tickets are £42.50 and EMI gave them the boot because they wanted a new £10m contract.Greedy public school arty-farties.I'll stick with The Bends ta very much.
