Have we run out of negative things to say about the past and present and now need to look ahead a couple of years for new material?

I predict that the next Bunnymen album will not satisfy all of us and Mac will say something that will rile us up and cause us to defend Will and wonder when Les will be back. The album will reach #71 and will contain one thinly veiled song about the new baby with the word "dusty" or "May" in the title.

How's that?

I fondly recall my father making me watch Red Dawn some 100 odd times then showing me where the guns were kept in case the Russians decided to invade.

Avenge me!!
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Mr Brians observation in his first sentence here is bang on the money.

The Bunnymens only moment in the sun of recent times has been doing the Ocean Rain shows in 2008. Releasing the Fountain after these shows was an anti climax.
It was never going to stand up to their earlier works but I admire a band who keep creating, we must respect them for that.
There is definitely something wrong with management but sadly I think this comes back to ian - he is too difficult and people in the industry cannot be bothered with his bullshit.

You can only get away with his type of behaviour when you are young and have hit records.

Managers, promoters and record labels want to make money not babysit a 50 year old man with alcohol and substance abuse problems that affect his personal life that affects the band and what ever they are trying to promote .

The sad thing is if it weren't for Ians talent and huge presence the band would not have got anywhere in the first place. I know this will upset the Will fans here but you must be realistic people. No denying that their talents merged are a force to be reckoned with but the music industry is renowned for taking good looking young things with no talent and turning them into ego maniacs and drug addicts.
ian was good looking and talented so he had higher to go and further to fall.
A miracle he is still around - I tip my hat to him for that.

Will & Mac together are amazing but the energy is fading.

The new players are good but there is no dynamic between Will & Mac on stage and nothing will make up for it.

I try to remember the good but if they don't pull it together in 2010 the writing on the wall wont wash away.

Mac is obviously having a midlif crisis and holding onto youth anyway he can (literallly) his ego is talking too loud whilst his good traits are slipping somehow.

The harsh reality of addiction is the person who once was slowly becomes someone else and everyone around them holds onto the person who used to be.
The addict finds new people who will feed the addiction and reflects the person he has now become.

So lets hope Mac wakes up,does some interviews, makes the plane and they sell some tickets to shows so there is a future for The Bunnymen.

in our will-centric defence all i can say is when mac had it all to himself he didn't exactly set the world on fire.and anyway, since when did being a fan require any kind of being realistic. Which reminds me, Mr Brian, so who told you les is coming back? If you have a date please it would help. Thanks.

Chez.
