How long do we think this relationship will last? Let's start placing bets. I give it two years tops.

Two years is very generous.

I vote to rename the child Daisy Dukes or Ellie Mae.

And the mother turned 25 on March 1st. (From her own myspace page.)

What were the Bunnymen doing in 1985.

As Zoe Devlin was coming into this world

Mac would have been 26 and Dancing Horses and Songs to Sing and Learn were the flavour.

HUMMM, I have issues here my step daugher who is 22 is living with a man of 50.

It looks horible - or am I just a prude

no. anyone would have those concerns, and though she may be very happy and all that you do wonder whether the old bloke is in it because - well you know. And even so, there's always the line in Friends where Ross is dating one of his students. Her dad (bruce Willis) turns up says to Ross 'whats the matter, couldn't you get a girlfriend your own age?

I noticed the news on both the Ian McCulloch & Bunnymen wikipedia entries last night - as of this morning, they've been scrubbed.

Not that I'm surprised.

Maybe the guys her age don't have the same level of maturity Mac has.

Well, this made the British Sea Power board:

Nice quote from Friends. Very appropriate.

As for motives -- too many to list and I think everybody knows them, especially the ones about wanting to feel young again, not wanting to grow up/be old, etc.

I'd like to add another -- a woman more his age would be more apt to call him out on his behavior and not take his bullshit, unlike a woman just out of her teens.

As for her motives, I still see it as a career move (backing vocals, song/album collaborations, his name will open doors previously closed) and the phrasing that she now has a baby makes me think of possessions and getting something that will love her. Most people get a dog, not a baby.

I bet there won't be a mention in his "memoirs" either!

As for her motives...

My take - it wasn't just that she wouldn't call him out on his behavior, it's that she was up to the same behavior until she found out she was knocked up.

In reality, they were probably both completely wasted when the deed was done.

And why would she hook up with him in the first place? Two words - daddy issues.
Over the course of the last decade, I've had the good fortune to... ahem... date a number of women who were in their 20s and waaaay out of my league, thanks to their daddy issues.

You're probably right.

Ah, I forgot about daddy issues. Thanks for the insight Frank.

So that's why I've been attracted to Frank all these years.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

You Grandfather's legacy has also allowed me to do quite well with your mom.

I now have a beautiful baby girl called Dusty May McCulloch!!!!!!

OH yeah!!!

Hope you're well,

Zoe, Dusty, and Ian. x

The phrasing "I now have a [] baby" bothers me.

I agree - the use of I instead of we is confusing if not maybe a little too 'it's all about me'.

Then again there is a telling phrase on the alabama 3 blog by Spirit 'we have all learned that what Devlin wants Devlin gets, some of us the hard way'.

Apparently she was married to Nick Reynolds a member of Alabama 3 previously.
Maybe he learnt the hard way...

Here's Nick Reynolds' myspace page. He's pretty old, too. Yup, she's got daddy issues.

This just keeps getting worse. She's a 25-year-old divorcee? Or is she even divorced?

I think the use of "I" might be less "all about me" and more about her sensing Mac doesn't want this relationship/baby/etc to be public knowledge. Hence, the mysterious erasing of the news from Wikipedia.
