Fantastic. Jago was all about the snares, Shapiro is more about the toms... sounds more tribal |

I dunno about a "full" review... but I'll give you a smattering.
Evening started at Genghis Khan - the divey Chinese restaurant next door to the venue. I live about a block away, and had heard other bands' soundchecks while I was grabbing takeout, so the hope was that BRMC would be soundchecking as we dined. We were not disappointed.
We were treated to the title track of the new album (three times), plus Ain't No Easy Way & Conscience Killer (another smoking track from the new album)
As for the main event, the beginning of the setlist was as follows
War Machine
Mama Taught Me Better
Red Eyes And Tears (reworked)
Love Burns
Bad Blood
Beat The Devil's Tattoo
Aya
Berlin
After that, I kind of lost track. I think they played about 20 songs in all, with a lot of songs from the new album (glad I downloaded it). Other tracks I remember - Took Out A Loan, Not What You Wanted (reworked), 666 Conducer, Whatever Happened to My Rock & Roll, Six Barrel Shotgun, Ain't No Easy Way, Conscience Killer.
As I said earlier, Leah added something to the songs. She was more than a mere replacement. Her drumming was more intense, harder and more chunky than Jago's. Her harmonizing vocals were a nice addition as well on tracks like Not What You Wanted.
The venue sound was good and the band were in good spirits. At one point, Robert stopped to thank the staff of the Showbox for treating them so well and being easy to work with - I thought that was cool. They're a class establishment and must be good employers - I've seen the same bouncers and bartenders for years.
All in all, a great night out

No, they had a song on a charity compilation that is available at American Eagle Outfitters.

Her kit was distinctly different from what was probably Jago's kit from the last tour. - to her right, she had a 12" cymbal and another huge one - probably two feet across. then a floor tom, bass drum and what looked like another floor tom mounted right above the bass drum, where you normally see a snare. |

I had to get out of the car.
There are some songs on there I really like. I need to give it a few more listens on the house speakers. Songs 5 and 6 are stand outs so far.
Better than the what? |

| I like it. BRMC always changes things up a bit and I find myself wanting the new release to sound like he last one. Good driving music. Not their greatest, but definitely good. |
