Pocket is good stuff - as is your mix of the tune above. I'd like to hear the original (can't find it).
As the principal creative mind behind the NYC-based electro-pop band Burnside Project, Richard Jankovich (aka Pocket) is not just well-versed in pop music production—he’s quickly become one of the most celebrated remixers today. As Pocket, Jankovich has done remixes for Beck, Radiohead, Kristin Hersh, Of Montreal, Elk City, Joanna Newsom, Mendoza Line, Dirty on Purpose, Eskobar and many others, always to critical acclaim.
Jankovich continues this core idea of collaboration and ensemble recording through the release of a new project: a series of singles featuring a stunning lineup of both legendary musicians and newer artists, all of which will be released digitally throughout 2009.
Starting with the release of “Surround Him With Love” featuring Robyn Hitchcock, the succession of singles features Craig Wedren (Shudder to Think), Yuki Chikudate (Asobi Sesku), Tanya Donelly (Throwing Muses, Belly), Danny Seim (Menomena), Steve Kilbey (The Church), Sal Principato (Liquid Liquid), Dave Smalley (Down By Law), Mark Burgess (The Chameleons UK) and more.
In addition to Pocket, Jankovich continues to lead Burnside Project while also working in music and branding.
“Where Radiohead’s version builds from spare beginnings, Jankovich lets droning tendrils of noise poke into all that space, setting a thumping beat beneath.”
