Its all Over Now

Postby King Of Kings » Wed Mar 03, 2010 10:52 am

I used to play Bunnymen songs all night long
They were so good, how could it be wrong
Porcupine hair and crocodile shoes, that's no lie
Tweed overcoat heaven up here, no time to cry

Because they were the greatest , but it's all over now
Because they were the greatest , but it's all over now I

I used to follow them around at every gig in town
Spent all my money, on bootlegs and YMCA’s
Now they’ve made the fountain, such a pity, how I cried
Tables turn and now its their turn to cry

Because they were the greatest, but it's all over now
Because they were the greatest, but it's all over now

Well, I used to listen in the morning, get my breakfast in bed
When I'd gotten worried the songs eased my aching head
But now there a tribute band, at every venue in town
Still singing the same old songs just like Jimmy Brown

Because they were the greatest, but it's all over now
Because they were the greatest, but it's all over now

Actually its you sad gits who take it all to seriously.

By virtue of the fact, that you feel the need to make a comment like that, surly demonstares that, infact it is you, who needs to get a life

With your odd punctuation, namely use of commas, I wonder if, in fact you are, spooky.

Now that I've invoked her name, watch Pete G. morph out of the wall like a liquid terminator and inquire what's going on.

I'd settle for a nude T-800 with an Austrian accent.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Nice job KOK.

Wait a minute! KOK puts sentiments routinely expressed on this site into verse and then he's criticized by some of those same people?? No win situation. I'm getting the sense that the disappointment with the band and the resulting depression are making people a bit grumpy.

I wish Ian would read it to better understand the mood of his fan base. How about this: I'll make a copy, package it neatly labeled "To Ian" and fling it at him at the next show.

I feel sorry for many of you because I'm still riding the wave.

I know. Take routine notions and make them into an annoying gay song and suddenly you're a criminal.

Brilliant. I love it. I laughed I cried.

I cried a fountain dry
I cried a mountain high.
Shit. So true.
I long for the pork of Porcupine. (A slide show dedicated mostly to Will right here.... http://www.examiner.com/rock-music-in-l ... -here-tour)

I've read this a couple of times KOK, and I think it's marvellous. Is there any chance you could perhaps film yourself singing/reciting it on youtube to give us a flavour of the tune?

Me too S4T, though there are a few turds floating in the sea around me (I guess it's called life).

How can we keep love alive
How can anything survive
When these little minds tear you in two
What a town without pity can do

Don't feel sorry for us, feel sorry for the Bunnymen and what they have become.
And you know that I'll pick up
Every time you call
Just to thank you one more time
