Heavy Metal Britannia

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Heavy Metal Britannia

BBC4 documentary Heavy Metal Britannia offers an affectionate look back to a time when the leather-clad likes of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Saxon became Top Of The Pops regulars. But what forces forged the unique alloy that is British metal?

"You've got to be able to balance out that intensity, though," says a pensive Halford. "I've got to be able to come off stage, go to Morrisons and do my shopping."

Which is your favourite? Mine is zinc.
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

All very nice these fancy new metals, but you can't put down good old aluminium. Tried and tested over many a decade and never out of fashion. I want one of these.

Are you pronouncing that "aloominum"? In some sort of retarded simpleton kind of way or "aluminium"? Which is of course the right and proper way!
