I'm waiting for a Mac solo show at Snarf's.

Ian played the Phoenix (called the Diamond at the time) on the Candleland tour in 1990.

I'd go to Zelig's to hear him again, that was a good night.

Yeah he was like "bartender, get me a Midori Sour and the girliest drink you got for my friend BF"

So the bartender gave us two Midori Sours

That's a pretty sorry tour no matter how you look at it.

Only 2 dates in the western US and one is at a casino that's not even Las Vegas. No southern dates such as Atlanta yet there are two shows in Pennsylvania.

For Siberia they played Denver, Portland, Vancouver, Los Angeles, San Diego, etc. They can't be making money off album sales so how could they possibly be making money off touring like this?

In my opinion, they limit the tour dates 1) in order to have a fighting chance he'll be able to sing by the last date and 2) they keep returning to the venues that give them favorable terms financially to play there.

slicingupeyeballs made this observation:

Following the Bunnymen’s April 16 slot at Coachella, the band sets out on a bi-coastal trek beginning April 18 in Reno, Nev., and wrapping May 1 in New York City. Except for Atlanta — which is bypassed entirely this time — the band is playing each of the cities on the aborted November tour (although not necessarily at the same-sized venues), plus stops in San Francisco and Ontario, and the aforementioned Reno concert.

Many of the venues on the November no-tour were theaters (rather than clubs) with correspondingly steep ticket prices. It seems that after their success with the OR shows in theaters they felt they could fill one with a greatest hits set. Maybe the Nov tour was cancelled mainly due to poor ticket sales.

It's also possible they waited too long to book this tour and most venues weren't available. In Boston, the venue they were supposed to play last year is now booked solid at the end of April, so they get shunted off to the available venue that holds far less.

In any case, it does look like they're just going through the motions, but what's new?

That was my thought when looking at the locations. Financial considerations. I mean I'm sure Pennsylvania is nice and all but two dates? And where the hell is Sparks, NV?

If they're avoiding L.A. cause I'm an asshole they should take erin kngdom, zabird and insane jane into consideration. They don't deserve this kind of treatment.

Oh well I got a 5 1/2 hour Black Francis/Daniel J./Kevin Haskins/Pixies/Tenacious D/Interpol Wants Revenge/Ok Go/Grand Duchy/Weird Al/Flea/Kim from The Muffs/Michael Penn show. I'm good.

It's actually a pretty good drink. Girly, but good. I've had one or two of these in my lifetime.

1 oz Midori® melon liqueur
1 oz whisky sour mix
2 oz Sprite® soda
2 cherries

I've since butched up my image with tattoos and an affinity for dark beer.

Thanks for thinking of us/me, BF, but as for myself, I'm done. After Fountain I can't listen to them anymore. I lurk occasionally on here. Can't on BOF because as soon as I go onto the site THAT  song "Proxy" comes on.
Whenever I listen to their old stuff now, I think of them as a great band that used to exist.

Fuck. It does.

Does this mean that Proxy is the next "single" off The Fountrain?
