Reverberation Chords

Postby shuamort » Thu Feb 18, 2010 10:43 pm

I took the day off from work and dusted off the MP3s to this not-so-popular album and decided to figure out the chords to it. Some of the songs (like Senseless) were off true pitch so they were a bit trickier. I cleaned up the lyrics a bit to being possibly closer to whatever Noel is singing. If you see any corrections, lemme know as I'm sure it's not perfect. (And in preview, it seems that the chords get mushed over to the left)

Gone, Gone, Gone

B/B/B/B/B/B/B/A

My head is like an unblocked drain
B

E D B
Gone, gone, gone

B
My arms are like two shipyard cranes
B
That may not work again
A
My fortunes wax
A
My fortunes wane
D B
My sense is sundered

B
A cup that cheers a cheerless heart
B
The path I dare not chart
A
I look askance, not quite the part
D B
Someone has blundered

F# A E
The normal rules do not apply
F# A E
And mine is not to reason why
E D B
Gone, gone, gone

To all this grand old scheme of things
B
To all the pain it brings
A
To all those who pull the strings
D B
I said good ridence

To pass the time, to coin a phrase
B
I mint a million ways
A
To counterfeit my salad days
D B
And split the difference

The normal rules do not apply
F# A E
And mine is not to reason why

Thank you shuamort for all your work. Why not treat yourself and take tomorrow off work as well? By the way, welcome to the nuthouse, as always keep your head down and arse to the wall, and as for the females, if you're accosted by a classically-trained cheaply-peroxided frog-kisser take no heed.

Depending on the thickness and integrity of the wall you still may not be safe.

Very cool. They still had their trademark unusualness. Sometimes Les would alter the chord by what he played as opposed to Will and the rhythm guitarist actually changing a chord. Crocodiles is a perfect example of that. Any who, I know I'm thrilled to play through them a bit without having to try to figure out the chords myself.
I long for the pork of Porcupine. (A slide show dedicated mostly to Will right here.... http://www.examiner.com/rock-music-in-l ... -here-tour)

Reverberation is the greatest album ever made. Thanks for the chords. It pisses me off no end to think that I will never see "Flaming Red" performed live, even on video (I don't think any exists) so I will bribe some great (and cheap) musicians I know to do a cover and video it. Of course the fantastic video will shoot it to number one worldwide for an entire year, so at least Will, Les and Noel will have a comfortable pension from the royalties.

P.S. I don't suppose you could do the same for the Chameleons UK's
"Dangerous Land"-possibly the greatest song ever written
in history
- the lyrics stand on their own as great poetry!

I am the pride at the heart of a man
I am a refuge in a dangerous land
I am a wall or a line in the sand
I am a gathering
I am a stand

Hold, hold me
Well whose going to hold me now?
Not you

I am the daylight when darkness draws near
I am a signal that's heard without ears
I am the rapture and I am the tears
I am a centre regardless of years

Hold me, hold me
Well whose going to hold me now?
Not you.
