The Obligatory Depeche Mode thread

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

I'm welling up and I wasnt even there!
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

Maybe this will lead to some Wilder produced DM material? I think Gore is becoming more relaxed about sharing some of the creative duties in the band and lets face it, Wilder hasn't been super busy lately.

Weirder things have happened.

If it was to happen I could only draw one conclusion. There is a God after all.

I'm hoping.

Why is there always one lame-o in the crowd who sings at the full volume along right next to the mic recording?

WHAT A NIGHT!!!!!!
Coming into the arena of the RAH and seeing how small it actually is and realising how close we were to the stage and looking up at the boxes and the balcony at all the DM t-shirts and paraphanalia was a rush in itself.
First of all the was opened by Roger Daltry who gave some background info on Teenage Cancer Trust before a short film was shown. It was cool to see him in the flesh.
The band came on stage and were on fire from the get go. They started off the way all the concerts on this tour seem to have been;
In Chains,
Wrong, Hole to Feed etc. We also got (can't remember in what order)
Walking in My Shoes,
Question of Time,
Precious,
Come Back,
Enjoy the Silence,
Policy of Truth,
a Martin ballad interlude,
Never Let me Down Again ...
I had to make a mad dash to the loo during Come Back and when I got back in the intro to Somebody was just starting and I suddenly noticed Alan wilder sitting at the piano. I couldn't believe my eyes. The place was like a church, you could have heard a pin drop. There was a guy in his forties standing next to me and the tears were streaming freely down his face. It was simply beautiful and I'm thrilled to have witnessed it. It's all most people were talking about afterwards. The other surprise was that they played Photographic which sounded fantastic!!
They only played one encore. But after such an evening, I didn't care. I'm still beaming at the thought of it.
Every word is like an unnecessary stain on silence and nothingness.

I would have thrown my underwear on stage.

I would pay to see you do that for the Mozzer. The three drops of water in the paper cup which soaked him at the Echo Arena were funny enough (with hindsight!) but to see him flailing through "This Charming Man" with a pair of BFs leopard print G-strings dangling from his quiff would be well worth the admission price.
