Did you know that polar bear’s fur is transparent and not white? It just looks white to us because of their natural surroundings. That's usually why they look so dirty at the zoo. I love that bit of trivia.

Polar bear fur looks white because of light scattering. Other common examples of this phenomenon would be frosted glass and milk.
