He's always had trouble with his vision.

With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

I noticed that Ian has done a bunch of solo performances over these last couple months, playing the same three or four songs at each new location. Any idea why? To exercise his voice? To push The Fountain? To get a feel for his chance of being successful if he were to truly go solo? Boredom? Needing the attention? Has he done this sort of thing in the past following the release of a new albums?

Their U.S. social media marketing team (Big Method) put together these latest solo performances. My guess is it's their attempt to push the new album, nothing else.

"I was traveling throughout the weekend - first having the honor of helping put together a legendary night of music with Ian McCulloch of Echo and the Bunnymen, ..."

The "legendary night of music" was the Webster Hall thing.

"The album has got a sound to it. It's quite tough in some places." Really? Are they hidden places cos I've not found them.

"you don't want it to be pop to the point it's pap." Oh dear then.

I think it was due to the proper tour being cancelled, and not wanting to wait until spring '10 before promoting the epic triumph of sound and fury that is the, um...Fountain.

Yeah, there are many adjectives to describe the Fountain (soft, weak, bland, and predictable come to mind), but "tough" would be inaccurate and very misleading.

The more I listen to The Fountrain, the more I like it. Must be some kind of back-masking brainwash thing going on here...

Depends on the context. "Tough to listen to" is fairly accurate.
