Then we could all throw them at Mac. With his eyesight he'd think they were knickers and be flattered.

Yes, I noticed that assassin in the velvet waiting room at RCMH would not acknowledge my questions about his craft. Fear the knife would be turned on him, I am sure.

Mr. Brian wrote:It was discussed here in a thread and I know that Peter and others visit here and read posts. At the time I thought it was the Elvis people but a quick search turned up all sorts of Elvis merchendise thatb was still up.

It was close to the time that DimeADozen also pulled all the Bunnymen torrent bootlegs shortly after a thread was started here about a bootleg of Albert Hall. The link was also posted on the BOF and then removed. DimeADozen said they received an e-mail from Peter that it wasn't allowed by the band. That started a whole controversy here and at at the BOF. Peter then apparently sent an e-mail saying he didn't send an e-mail to ban those torrent bootlegs. I contacted DimeADozen and asked about it and they the e-mail the received to unban them originated from the same IP and domain as the the e-mail to ban them. So it was either Peter for himself acting on the Bunnymen's behalf and ended up catching some flack for it or someone who really knows how to spoof e-mails did it. I think I know my answer.

Seems like an awful lot of time and effort to go to just to stop a t-shirt.

Seems a lot of trouble yes, but would you want someone selling t-shirts with your face photoshopped onto Elvis' body on it made by the same supplier who is producing your "official" t-shirts, even if it was done in a fondness type of mockery? I wouldn't.

Nope. You have a point there.

Actually let me correct my statement. I was using spreadshirts.com and not CafePress.

I still saw it as another attempt to stifle this fan site rather than an attempt to protect the Bunnymen. It's similar to removing links to this site from the BOF and replacing "villiersterrace.com" with "pickledonions.com". I can see the point that the BOF sells merchandise and this may take away from their revenue however Peter has exchanged polite e-mails with me in the past and I don't see why that couldn't be done here as well instead of being all weaselly about it.

Now you say it was a different supplier, then there wasn't any excuse for it. I wouldn't want my face on a t-shirt, but there would be little I could do about it unless it was extremely rude or slanderous in some way. As for the rest, I agree - maybe it has come out of an element of jealously. This forum has become far more popular and is outside official state control.

Someone should go over there and start a thread taunting the BOFers that their official forum isn't as good as our unofficial forum. Just for a laugh like.

Oh we are just a bunch of pickled onions who just like to bitch and moan aren't we! We come here to do it because it's not allowed at the BOF.

And we'd run out of things to write. There's probably only so much you can write about your favourite three-minute song off The Fountain. And all the threads "Best song, best previous album, best gig", is it really humanly possible to write the same shit day in day out, year in year out for 13 years?
