I can just picture Ian calling back management and Peter after mulling over whether to allow banned users onto the new forum. "OK, Peasy, it's a go". I don't know why, but that's the first thing that popped into my head after reading that banned users were allowed onto the new forum BUT only after it was "discussed at great length." God love that forum, don't ever change!!!

Oh, were we go. Mr. Brian you were correct in what you said to Peter Allen (God love him--cause I don't right now) All the reissue CDs talked about what drugs and drink they were into.

Mac would, as often as not, and when they'd let him, hang out with Pete and Jake (they shared an increasing fondness for cocaine and excessive drinking at this stage). Will and Les did not indulge in any of the illegal stuff. (Though Les did admit to dropping shrooms once in a great while in Incendiary Magazine article.

If you read the faqs, they make specific mention of looking out for the kiddies and keeping things family friendly. Mentioning drugs, even though drug use was well documented among those who used, is not going to wash with having kiddies around. They can't control everything that's out there, but they will control what is on the forum. Really, Peter could have just come out and said that.

If the internet had been in wide usage 30 years ago, they would have had to think about some of those things too--there were plenty of things to love or hate about the Bunnies along the way that might have caused them some headaches.

The BoF forum going from Bunnymenforum.com to Bunnymen.com/forum reminds me of the People's Front of Judea and The Judean People's Front.

Just had a quick look at the new, improved BOF.

There isnt much going on and it looks terrible. Most of the posts are inane ramblings about how great The Fountrain is. There isnt a single mention of Kooks tits.

Nothing "alleged" about Mac's cocaine use (or at least former cocaine use). Seen him use it. He even asked me to score him some on tour in Nottingham back in '01.

About the time Mac and Lorraine separated, a member of the touring band (who was in the States at the time) reached out to me to tell me about his concerns for Mac's health, stating he was going off the deep end with the coke use. Scared the crap out of me. I called management to voice my concerns as well... this member of the touring band was fired the next day.
