ANOTHER new official forum??

General discussion about the band, live shows, its recordings or bootlegs, etc. You can buy, sell or trade here. You can even post eBay links. If it's about the Bunnymen, it goes here.

Dr Evil wrote:Look at this! http://www.bunnymen.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=14 A load of creepily condescending posts praising The Fountain, calling it the "Best album since "What are you going to do with your life" and "better than Siberia." and one token "I'm not sure If I like The Fountain" quickly contradicted by a gushing "fan."
The BOF is now like The Stepford Wives. Ah, now I get it. Mac has hacked into the BOF and erased all the real posts. Now all the new posts are really generated by a chatbot programmed to simulate fans praising his worst musical atrocities.

I suspect a lot of those posts were written by the USA media marketing team.

It's nice you don't have to register to read the posts. I'm sure that's a development they hate.

It's pitiful that the webmaster is their spokesman and lead cheerleader.

I didn't think they could create something even uglier than the other forum, but they did.

It's just a mutual masturbation society over there. Ugh.

The U.S. marketing team are these guys. They do something called social media marketing. I know, I'm laughing too.

That new forum IS ugly! The old one was OK from a graphics point of view, but obviously none of the "paint it black" coolness of Villiers Terrace. I guess they
just can't be bothered with quality product any more. A bit like the band.

Is Bill Cosby trying to target the youth market, too?

Bill Cosby has obviously tried to switch his attention to social media marketing now to keep up with the yoof market. His last long player badly flopped despite the release of a catchy first single on MP3. Of course, Bill said the new album was the best thing since 1986's "Cosby and the Kids", but some people knew differently.

I think it's more of a function of having William Morris as your agent.

Both the Coz and the Bunnymen are clients.....

It pains me to see KoK treated like that but I also admire a man who takes pride in his work.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

A man has to take pride in his work. Otherwise, what is he?

Actually, blackfrancis requested that.

I know.

I'm revising my assessment. The forum isn't ugly, it's too generic.

And what's with all the forums and sub-forums? How many levels do you need to post stuff like, I think The Fountrain is the best thing evah.

Although, someone's already posted some photos of the young Ian...... Nice.

I think Mr Brian should close this forum and start another one. It'd be like visiting a forum for the first time, spending many hours finding your way around four threads with some ten posts.

Actually I was recently going to convert this phpb version 2.x forum to the newer phpbb version 3 which the Mega BOF 2010 (thank JackT for that name!) is using now but I was going to preserve all of our witty threads rather than bag it and start over.
