BRMC - New Album/Tour in spring

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

BRMC - New Album/Tour in spring

Postby Frank The Bunny » Tue Dec 29, 2009 12:38 pm

Got my tix for BRMC here in Seattle - March 5
The album "Beat the Devil's Tattoo" (with Raveonettes drummer Leah Shapiro) is out March 8. Hopefully a torrent will pop up prior to release.

Current BRMC live DVD/CD set is great, btw

Someone should check the BRMC message board and see if they're bitching about set lists.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

I could guarantee they're not.
Why? Because BRMC put the work into their shows and truly seem like they give a shit. They know playing for their fans is the cornerstone of their success. It's not uncommon for them to go outside the venue after a gig with acoustic guitars in hand to play for the lingering crowd... just because they enjoy it.

Go figure.

Is their drummer back in the line up or is he still battle his demons? He really is needed.

I bet the drummer believes in ghosts too Jack.

He's out. Leah Shapiro did the last tour, and she was good. Could hardly tell she was a chick.

Well, can't wait around forever for him.

His drumming really took those songs a step above garage band retro rehash.

What about the live stuff? I am kind of tired of concerts unless it is Manson doing his cabaret shtick.

Well, that's just just old time rock and roll with extra distortion. Way cool. Though I wonder if anyone will be crying about the guy smoking his voice away.

Seriously, I STILL want to know what it is about lead singers and smoking. I tried smoking at threw up. I didn't find that nicotine calmed my nerves, just dried out my voice and made me hurl.

You're so vain. I bet you thought this thread was about you...

Oh, I'm sorry. I meant "Thank you for your helpful and delightful insight on your personal experience with smoking. Peer pressure nearly got to me. I almost started smoking. At 43."

I love their live show though gets a little bumpy when they do their solo guy-and-his-acoustic bits (that's when I hit the bar). Last tour I saw, Leah Shapiro was drumming and she was great - had a good intensity. Previous tour, Nick Jago was obviously intoxicated throughout the show, and didn't even make the encores. Robert Been kept time, working the bass drum pedal while he played his bass and sang. It was kind of cool... but wouldn't have been necassary if Jago had just been able to do his fucking job.
