Rage Against the Machine for Xmas /Rage Against Simon Cowell

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Rage Against the Machine for Xmas /Rage Against Simon Cowell

How cool is this? RATM gets a #1 hit because people are sick of Simon Cowell?? I love it! I love it even more that he called it "stupid" probably sold more records that way.

Rage Against the ATM.

Rock the Rhythm, Lead, and Bass Guitar tracks in the follow-up sequel to the Best Music Game of the year of 2005. Form your guitar duo and shred riffs cooperatively or go head to head in all new multiplayer modes. With over 55 tracks to rock out to, you'll go from Guitar Hero to Guitar god in one press of a fret button. Guitar Hero II features more than 55 songs. That would be interesting if Sony started the whole thing. If they are both on Sony, they win either way. Making a killing in the name of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

So they're basically two cheeks of the same arse but the left one is slightly hairier than the other?
Purveyor of the 'semi-predictable one-liner (which) embodies the essence of the type of comedic crap we grew to love here. VB is a crazy fool'

nicely put VB. And the horrible nasty old rage song just happens to be one they can fade in the right place so it still gets air play - unless they actually have a radio edit. rock n roll eh.

Isnt this campaign just as contrived as the X factor?Only winners are corporate whores.Surely it would have been better to download Frank Sidebottom's "Anarchy in Timperley" to make an agit-pop rebellion more 'Richey Manic '4 real''?

Kinder sick, innit?

Yes, RATM is on Epic which is SONY.
Yes, McElderry on Syco (Simon Cowell's label) which is SONY.

I am now OFFICIALLY disgusted. It would be cool if they had done that with say, Killing Moon after all these years.

what do you mean by they? Supposedly started as a facebook campaign by a couple of fans and then the band themselves picked up on it. I'm not sure theres a conpiracy here but they aren't ging to complain about selling twice as many singles are they. Killing moon's a bit twee compared to fuck you i wont do what you tell me. Wouldn't have worked. bunny's natural apathy would have killed it anyway.

the only bit that gets me is that cowell and now that stupid geordie tart were saying, oo its not fair, its Joe's moment their spoiling. And I thought, well his moment was winning opportunity knocks or whatever it was, amd there shouldn't be an automatic shoe-in to the christmas number one. youre out int he big bad world now sonny jim, so enjoy your moment cos it might be very brief. and then i found my pipe and slippers and switched over to watch bergerac.

Rage Against the Machine are in my esteemed opinion the worst band ever.

Take themselves seriously much?

In a statement, Rage Against the Machine said, “This is a huge victory by and for fans of real music and we extend our heartfelt thanks to every fan and freedom fighter who helped make our anthem of defiance and rebellion the Anarchy Christmas Miracle of 2009.”

However in their defense if I knew setting "The Dummies Guide to Marxist Slogans" to crap music would make millions I would have done it too.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Guerrilla Radio is a pretty cool song. I don't know much by RATM beyond that to be honest.

I do think it is a good thing that a group of people decided to upset the apple cart on this whole predictable Christmas song even if Rage appears to be a bunch of corporate hypocrites. Rage didn't start this campaign did they? Wasn't it a bunch of fans?
