Wow!

I would love mp3 of these amazing performances, especially "The Fountain" and "I Think I Need it Too."

Always the obligatory:

awful? wtf are you talking about? he didn’t miss a note – you’re talking out of your ass right now. singers get raspier as they age – and it’s hot. but keep on thinking it’s “horrible to witness” and stay away from their live shows….because that means i wouldn’t ever be put in the “awful” position of unknowingly rocking out next to you.

Mac is brilliant – lyrically, musically, and as a singer. EATB have been the best band out there for 30 years, not to mention the coolest. The new LP is amazing. These idiotic critics talking about “beauty” and things that nothing to do with the amazing body of his work is getting tiresome. You people need to get a clue or shut up.

With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Actually, it ISN'T normal that a singer's voice would be raspy to the point of cutting off about 1.5 octaves of his formerly glorious 3 octave range. Listen to Rollercoaster or Over Your Shoulder and try not to cry when you listen to how he sounds today. And while Placido Domingo doesn't sound like he did in his youth, he sounded AMAZING at 50. The guy is almost 80. Mac's not 80, he's 50 and he should sound a gajillion times better. I'd like to kick his ass for not taking care of himself.

Why doesn't someone tell him? I felt embarrassed for the guy.

He's probably surrounded by yes men who want to continue to recieve a paycheck and if it comes from a reviewer then he's probably dismissive and defensive about it or he does not read his own reviews.

He sounds like he can't breath and he has a constant 'cold' lately.
Every word is like an unnecessary stain on silence and nothingness.

It should be obvious--Here's a video of John Denver at around 50--sounds even better than in his 20s. Whatever you think of his songs, he was always a professional.

Just watched my 'free' download of Killing Moon on itunes - gee I almost cried :frown:

How bad was this - and to allow it to be made available, who is on control on what goes out.

Macca needs to have a close look at himself and as they song says 'The Drigs Don't Work' we all need you around for for many years to come.

Its all about Mac these days

I want to cry a River

Perhaps they should be called "Ian McCulloch and the Bunnymen"

As time goes by , the more I can't be arsed with this group

Had the same thing with Julian Cope last year and sold my entire collection to fans on his forum.

It was quite a liberating experience.

I guess I'm moving on

Had Saint Julian on this afternoon. Classic.

It's like someone crushing all of Will's guitars, or him not being able to play as well anymore. It's an instrument and part of the sound. It's like not having Les in the band with his bass lines...

Copey's got some great ideas, but from what he wrote in his books, he's a bit looney.
