Pretty good recording from the Esquire penthouse in NYC last night I believe:

According to this, he played an invite only thing on Wed. Dec 2

http://www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2 ... nym_8.html

Last night (12/2) Ian performed at an invite-only event at the Esquire SoHo Apartment. It was said that he would be "playing acoustic tracks from the band's new album, 'The Fountain' - with guests invited to listen or even join the session."

There's a mention of the Dec. 3 show in the comments. Glad I didn't go.

I wonder if anyone "joined in" the session. If I were Mac I'd be like who the fuck are you? Put the guitar down and leave. No now. I don't care what the flyer said. Get the fuck out of here.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

That I would've liked to see. At least in the jazz world "sitting in" is standard fare because people might have lead sheets or chord charts. And everyone knows those songs so there is a language about when to improvise...
Backing vocals maybe?
I long for the pork of Porcupine. (A slide show dedicated mostly to Will right here.... http://www.examiner.com/rock-music-in-l ... -here-tour)

If anybody approached or jumped on the "stage" he would have hit them in the head with a bathroom stall door. I understand he carries one with him everywhere he goes. It's tough getting through customs, but it's worth it.

The promoters really didn't have a clue who they were dealing with when they wrote that blurb.

And from the video, does he ever turn the lights on? Imagine his home. Friends come over and say, "Mac, mind if i turn a light on? It's only a 40 watt bulb. No? Gee, thanks. Ouch!" as they ram their knee into the table leg.

It would be funny if Noel Burke and Bono turned up, got on stage and started to sing along with him.
