Pavement vs. the Bunnymen

With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

And I love Pavement and all but it's not even close. Bunnymen all the way. Too bad Spiral Stairs intro for the Crystal Days box set sucked. Now Wayne Coyne, that was a fuckin' intro.

Totally different sounding version from Pavement, hard to compare but I like the Bunnymen's version better . I think it's cool that Malkmus starts singing other songs off Ocean Rain.

Does anybody know where or when the Bunnymen video was recorded? I put it about 1986/1987.

The Pavement version is pretty cool.

The Pavement version is too slow for my tastes, but extra points for working other Ocean Rain lyrics into it. Bunny boys it is for me. Plus, Mac's cresting ocean wave 'do is over the top.

It's a great cover and one of my favorite Bunnymen covers. Pavement really owns it which is hard to do with a well known song.

What???? even a great song can be sung less well, I suppose. Made a cover list? Seriously? I think Will opined that they didn't really get it, but they don't mind the royalty cheques.

However, I think the Bunnies cover of People Are Strange is way better. Ian and the boys did well.
I long for the pork of Porcupine. (A slide show dedicated mostly to Will right here.... http://www.examiner.com/rock-music-in-l ... -here-tour)
