From Twitter:

That's a snapshot of Ian down at the Daytrotter studio in Rock Island, IL. Just a glimpse of what's to come... http://bit.ly/6A8DzS

Who's the closest to this place? Mr. Brian?

That's west of Chicago and it's over 6 hours from me so I doubt I am closest. It looks like Daytrotter is a place wher a lot of musicians record live sessions like Peel.

Forget it, Mr. Brian. Too late -- he's on the move: Philiadelphia

Hey all - Ian's going to be live on WXPN today with Dan Reed. Make sure to catch him at 4:10pm EST for a brief... http://bit.ly/7xowI5

I looked this up to see if it was the same Dan Reed. It is. Small world. I knew Dan Reed from years ago in the Cincinnati area. He was Danny Crash on WNXU and WOXY and was in some area bands.

I e-mailed Dan even though I have not talked to him in nearly 12 years, he said this interview is actually taking place tomorrow at 4 PM.

We need him to ask Ian what he thinks of VT.

Mr. Brian, can you make this happen?
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

I have a feeling he has no idea we exist unless someone showed him the site.

Apparently the 4 studios at XPN are named John, Paul, George and Ringo. Ian thought it was funny that the "lavatory" as he called it, is named Liverpool. Dan Reed said he was worried about that when he heard that Ian went to go use it but Ian seemed to be in a very cordial mood and laughed about it and didn't even take a stab at U2 when Dan mentioned Steve Lillywhite.
He said something about the next album being more organic and abstract like Heaven Up Here and said songs had already been written and (I think, my phone started ringing during this part) demos recorded.

Nice acoustic set with two guitars. Mac's voice was really good.
First song, Think I Need It Too.
Second song was The Fountain.
The Killing Moon was third

Hopefully someone recorded it. I was not really setup to do it.
