Dido singing with Faithless is perfectly acceptable, Dido on her own is horrible so I'll give you that one.
I love the diversity of the Faithless albums, it's not all glowsticks in the air stuff you know.

I remember seeing Maps a while back on some late night channel 4 show (I think) and was quite impressed but then for some reason I forgot all about them.

I think you're right and I think the band views it the same way, but on a song like I Dream of Crystal the vocals basically become the main instrument when he starts singing. It almost sounds like a different song at that point. I like the rest of that song.
