Finally Got The Fountain

Postby Joe-eatb » Fri Oct 30, 2009 4:45 pm

The Fountain is available on Itunes in North America. I downloaded it today and burnt it to a cd. I then listened to the cd on the way to work, I have to say I really like most of it. It's not as good as there first four classic albums, it's a little to "poppy" but it's still better then most of the shit out there. There are 2 or 3 great songs and I don't really get why everyone is so upset at the lack of Will's guitar. I here it, it could stand to be more to the front but he is there. And the great thing about downloading it off Itunes and then burning it to a cd, is I also downloaded the b-side November and put it as the eleventh track. I really wish they would have made November part of The Fountain and maybe made Proxy the first b-side, oh well.

I played "Poxy" for the husband last night in the car and asked his opinion of it as an unbiased non-Bunnymen fan. He said it sounds like a band trying to be "poppy" in a pop style that is long dead and missed by no one and that it's completely out of context with the rest of the album.

When I burned The Fountrain to CD, I filled the space left over (36 minutes isn't worth a whole CD- jeezus) with old Bunnymen stuff. When "A Promise" came on after "Idolness of Gods" hubby said "this sounds more like the Bunnymen to me."

He reminds me at least once a week why I married him.

I got the Fountain too

Postby aerolls » Thu Nov 12, 2009 12:19 pm

I just picked up my copy of The Fountain and I love it. It has shades of Electrafixion in it. Stellar. One of my favorite albums of the year!

That's sexist electrabunny. Aerolls could very well be a woman. I expected better from you, especially after calling out the hooligan at BOF.

Some songs have those killer hard riffs that echo tracks from Burned. I'm not saying it's exactly like Burned but it had the feel of Electrafixion with the majesty of Echo.
