Sadly, KROQ is total crap now. Back in the day, I lived in Phoenix, which had some pretty adventurous alternative stations.

Will do for Rip should be coming tomorrow or the next day. I just got Crystal Days and listened to it this afternoon. Still listening to it. I feel like I'm sitting at the feet of the Rabbit God.

Is it music that has changed or is it KROQ? It's hard to say. Some of the playlist was stuff brought over by the DJs themselves. Some of it was truly the video driven market. U2, they practically moved here and toured the hell out of America to develop their popularity. I'm starting to wonder how they stayed together through the years. Seriously, same four guys, no one left, no replacements ever. Must have been cause they stayed away from drugs and drinking as much as possible. Drinking and drugs are certain band wreckers.

Go for it. It's a good album. Has Pride (In the Name of Love) on it. There, I said it too :confused:

I still like old U2 stuff (pre-Rattle & Hum), but I don't like the monolith they've become, with their Nuremberg rally-size concerts, Bono's gunning for a Nobel, his god-like complex, etc. Hence, the bashing. And they'll never be as good as the Bunnies. Never. Ever. No matter how hard they try!

I think it's both, plus a major factor has to be the ultra-formatting favored by most u.s. stations today. That's what made Indie 103.1 so much fun in its heyday.

I hear you. Bono would benefit from the old Pre Green Stipe of just being quiet for a tour or two. Unforgettable Fire was quite an album. Yes, Pride is a tired old glove, but there are some really good songs on it that would truly benefit from a good remix. "Wire" comes to mind.
