Anybody watch the pilot? There may be SPOILERS below..

It's shows a lot of potential and I had a good time watching it. If you are unfamiliar with the basic plot, alien ships show up all over Earth and after some general panic the aliens reveal themselves as peaceful and human looking and wanting to assist mankind with their technology as a trade for a home. They set about curing diseases and bringing mankind together and have an ambassador program for young people to join them and spread the word. Things like that. However it turns out that they they are not all they say they are in message and in appearance and resistance fighters form and attempt to warn others. It turns out they have sleeper cells and sleeper agents that have been on Earth for years getting ready for this and sleeper agent traitors who are willing to help the resistance fighter against the V.

I never really watched the original show, mainly because I thought the bad affects ruined the story but I am definitely a sucker for this type of thing where the aliens come to save mankind like Childhood's End (great book, why was this never a movie?), Independence Day (very shitty story but good effects).

There is definitely a Terminator TV series vibe going on. One of the main female characters is a single Mom with a son who looks just like young John Connor in the Terminator TV show. Another main character, Ryan, looks like the former FBI agent in the Terminator show too. Actually many of the characters look kind of familiar. It makes me wonder about the motives behind the casting.

Anyway, I'll be looking for future episodes but just like the Terminator show that I initially loved and then grew tired of I wonder how they can really keep this going as a running series without the story getting old.

The original series freaked me out. I remember it as being awesome but I was pretty young back then.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

I saw snippets of it - it looks like Baily from Party of Five is in it.
