why we love the sarge

General discussion about the band, live shows, its recordings or bootlegs, etc. You can buy, sell or trade here. You can even post eBay links. If it's about the Bunnymen, it goes here.

Sorry folks, I checked out Read it in Books thinking THANK GOD Mac got kicked out of Teardrop Explodes.

Here is Coldplay...i think it's great that EATB is one of their fave bands, of course.

That thought made me laugh. A LOT. For many reasons.

Anyway, I love Will, he's fucking cool and groovy & that. And a top chap, to boot.

I'd have Will Sergeant wallpaper & a duvet set. Can someone mock up a room with Will wallpaper & duvet spread?

Sorry, I might be off, but Mac was hanging out with Julian Cope and formed the Crucial Three, right? Then Mac got chucked, then it was Teardrop Explodes or something really confusing like that. So much drama with those bands. (Malcolm MacLaren stole Adam's Ants to form Bow wow wow, etc., etc, etc.) But if Mac hadn't been chucked, then he would have been in that horrid band. I tried listening to some of it and it was fairly awful.

Oh no, I KNOW I'm off. After all, I actually believe that Ocean Rain is the most awesome album in the world. You'd think Mac was paying me to say this stuff. Cheque please!!!

That's not much of a stretch round these parts of the woods.

With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

I'm working on reading up on the scene out there. Wait that's Julian Cope's book isn't it? Freaking anybody can call themselves a musicologist for keeping a diary.

I think you might be off for the thinking Teardrop Explodes is cool. ;)

I mean kudos for the horn players, the 80s were horn heaven (and sax), but not as good as the Bunnymen.

Also, can someone please tell me what the crap this video is even about?

You might want to start with Akron, Ohio.

Pere Ubu, Devo.

I wouldn't say obtuse - just falling into the tired belief nothing was happening on this side of the pond. When just a recod store, Rough Trade filled their bins with albums bought in the U.S. while visiting. Both sides fed off of one another for ideas and inspiration. New Order's trip to the clubs in New York City is what sparked the whole Hacienda thing.

Here - go to you library or go to Amazon and buy this used for 3 bucks.
