WS: Unfortunately we are not the Rolling Stones and I can not pack it in. What would I do? Anyway, I don’t fancy packing shelves in a supermarket till I snuff it.

Fair enough.
WS: Heaven Up Here, it was a good time everyone pulling together, trying out new instruments and ideas (with) Hugh Jones as the captain steering the ship through. We learned a lot on those sessions. The pressure was on. We had are first U.S. tour looming, we would record all night then start again early in the morning, we started to get the giggles, hallucinating, with lack of sleep.

Probably one of the few bands to beat the sophomore slump. Agreed.

How come Will doesn't get a greatest quotes article?
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Fans started to abandon ship. I don't blame them

Hmm.
Every word is like an unnecessary stain on silence and nothingness.

I love the Sarge forever (in a completely non-carnal way) for the guitar at the end of Bedbugs & Ballyhoo, SuperMellowMan and Flaming Red.
But for God's sake, why does he keep apologizing for Reverberation, the greatest album ever made? Is he so intimidated by Mac that he has to apologize for creating a work of genius without his approval?

well maybe its like you know, when you've been married to someone (on and off) for thirty years, or you're like, you know, their brother, even though you know you're right, and the other one is wrong, you know, it gets like boring saying it because you know the other is juvenile enough to still get in a tizzy about it, so you dont. and obviously its a question that comes up isn't it?

you might also ask why the other person still thinks of it as betrayal and all that, that when they 'broke up the band' the others didn't sit down, or go stack shelves, and wait to be recalled. didnt the sarge, in another interview say singers tend to get their own way because they shout mor than the others. be interesting to see the reaction should the book ever reach the shelves.

Correction. It's the only "Bunnymen" album that Mac has been unable to call the greatest album ever made.

I haven't heard Reverberation, but it sounds like it would be musically worth a listen.

Will has a few zingers to his name, but this one is the best one I've heard.

It is worth listening to. I only listened to it for the first time in its full entirety about a month ago. Instrumentally it sounds like the Bunnymen, just with a different singer. Listening to it and Mac's solo stuff for the first time recently, I am even more confused as to why neither are capable of writing music on the same level anymore, other than some kind of mojo has been lost as they have aged.

Two sorts of mojo have been lost - Pete and Les
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

Because Mac's not the same vocally. He's totally trashed his voice. I wanted to start a thread about that. He was at the top of his game vocally in 1987/88 and sounded fantastic on Ocean Rain--the most perfect album ever made--though his voice was still maturing. And you can't deny how much energy they lost with Pete and Les. Listen to any of the covers of their songs and no one can match how they played though there is no excuse for the notes--perhaps they just don't get the mood. There is just no way ANYONE will be able to touch what Mac could do vocally. Try listening to Coldplay's Lips Like Sugar...it just makes you want to listen to EATB.

Here's a great live show with The Game and Lips Like Sugar. Awesome.
