She Wants Revenge opened! That's great! I like them.

You mean Interpol Wants Revenge?
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Ha ha, I've heard that before. I like Interpol too - but who really wants revenge is Joy Division!

So they did OR first and then the regular set. Interesting.

The blogger/reviewer didn't know enough to comment on the voice or the clothing. Lucky him.

I went to the Nokia show last night and I noticed you mentioned the sound being better in L.A.
Octavia and I had seats in the pit and the orchestra seemed completely lost and muffled inside that plexiglas box pushed all the way up against the back of the stage? I was expected this majestic-sounding album re-creation (like the album itself) but it was like they were playing in another room........with the door shut.
Went to the (very crowded) Yard House bar before the show and only found Octavia, her husband and their friend which I was glad to see since it's been a while.

The cd I have and the show I saw definitely added and sounded great. I watched the youtube of this show and this review from Mercury seems totally off. However, the amount of people chatting is pretty lame.

"Overall, the music was rigid and cold, possibly an inescapable factor of a rock band trying to work with a conductor-led orchestra quickly assembled from local players at each stop on the tour. There were a few meaningful moments when the violins and cellos added depth to the music, but mainly the orchestra felt like an anchor dragging behind the boat. There was no joy to the performance, and the music seemed lifeless."

I was in the back, near the mixing board, and the sound was pretty good there (at least for the second set), but I thought Ocean Rain was lacking .... it seemed too loud, too rushed and the mix was off. And Mac was really straining at points. It wasn't all bad, but not as magical as at Radio City Music Hall. And as others have pointed out, it probably would've been better if they had done Ocean Rain last, when Mac's voice had warmed up some.

The second set was much better, even tho it was the usual songs -- with the addition of an out-of-left field trashing of Wolverhampton. WTF???? Oh, and Mac demanded that the lights be put down so low that they needed flashlights to see their way back onstage for the encore

Not RCMH, but an enjoyable night out all the same.

Insane Jane and Octavia, sorry I missed y'all at the Yard House. Next time.

The review must be on then. Too many - you included - have said so.

RCMH was good.

Mac needs to get vocal coach.

Zabird, were you at the meet up at the Pig 'n Whistle before RCMH?
