L.A. meetup

Postby zabird » Tue Oct 20, 2009 8:02 pm

Wanna meet up before the show? And any ideas where? There are several bars/restaurants right at L.A. Live http://www.lalive.com/content.php?section=dining&page=restaurants#. Also, nearby are two wine bars: Bottlerock on Flower and 11th street http://www.bottlerock.net/losangeles/los-angeles-wine-bar.html and Corkbar on 12th and Grand http://www.corkbar.com/.

pre show meet

Postby erinkngdom » Thu Oct 22, 2009 7:08 pm

I was planning on going to the yard house bar in the la live complex prior to show....actually probably going to check out grammy museum first then yard house around 6:30 or 7....since parking in the reccommended structures is probably the best option i figure somewhere in the complex for drinks would make sense...compared all the menus and they actually seem to have the best appetizer menu as far as variety of options and pricing is reasonable...does that perk anyones interest?

I still haven't entirely ruled out the Bunnymen at the Nokia even at this late stage. I just can't get excited over it though.

Now if it were a Frank Black show I'd wear something sexy and give a roadie a hand job to get back stage.

Edit: Okay I just texted my buddy. If he wants to go still then it's a done deal.

With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

We're doing Day of the Dead at Hollywood Forever Cemetery instead. I hope it's cold enough so I can wear my flannel shirt buttoned only at the top.

This could be my first missed L.A. Bunnymen show since they reformed.

I'm not sure how I feel about that. I'm such a puss. It was just a month ago I was posting this:

"I think I've come to the decision to call it a day on the Bunnymen shows, even ones in Los Angeles. After seeing Depeche Mode just recently and the energy and enthusiasm that Dave and Martin gave I don't think I can stomach another self centered Mac performance ever again. Wrong or not I got the feeling that DM appreciated the fact we were there to see them and it felt like we were loved back. The look of genuine happiness on Dave and Martin's faces was something I'll never forget and the effort Dave put out knowing things haven't gone so well for him, just made me love them more. Plus the Ocean Rain NY show was such a positive experience for me with the friendships I made and a great performance from Mac that I know that can never be duplicated, there really isn't a point anymore."

Dr. Cheese, Scouser I need your strength more now than ever.

Actually with all my internal flip flopping, George Castanza might be more appropriate right now.

Go to the damn show already! I would go if I had the money. It's right in your area, you have to go - you have an obligation as a bunnyfan for life!!! Don't do it for yourself - do it for all of us (or at least for me  ). I expect a full review.

I think next to Jack and KoK, I'm third on the list of people who won't be getting free tickets.
