Have you tried the Soft Bulletin?
Or if you like weird and snazzy Priest Driven Ambulance?
If you don't like them, you don't like them. No crime.
Their sound for awhile was overly compressed drums giving them this big raucous sound. Then they went the way of Mercury Rev's All Is Dream. Dave Fridman, producer at Tarbox Studios seems to play a big role.
Now the vocals are still in line with Soft Bulletin and Yoshimi but the drums, guitars and volume are at early rock out levels.
They seem to be the Pink Floyd of their generation. B-Movie style.
