I was hoping this was another thread about Mac's voice.

I'm fine with his voice by the way.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Great rendition, but I much prefer David Bowie doing it. I rarely hear a cover song performed as good as or better than the original musician. The one exception is Israel Kamakawiwo’ole’s rendition of “Over The Rainbow/What A Wonderful World”

I agree that Ian's been sounding pretty good in some of the later recordings I've been listening to lately, including tracks off The Fountain. The raspiness is gone. I sense that he trying to hold onto his most valuable asset. Is he really smoking cigarettes, or is it simply a part of his stage persona, like the black hoodie he always wears? Is he ever seen off stage with a "fag" in his mouth??

Sometimes these iconic signature songs just don't sound right when done by other artists, like someone else doing Imagine or You Can't Always Get What You Want or The Killing Moon.

That is a good cover but it's been covered a lot. Some songs just never sound right except when the original artist does them. Actually the Pink Floyd song "Money" would be a good example.

George Formby would have done a good job of bringing that song to some form of life.

Just noticed Adam Peters' name on the cover, is this the same Adam Peters from the Bunnymen's Life at Brians and of Neulander and the legendary Family of God?
