I want to Cry. The Death of a Bunnyfan, 28 Sep 2009
By Mr. Percy Frizelle "king of kings" (uk) - See all my reviews
Ok I'm an old Git A child from the 80's
Why Oh Why are all my Favorite groups from the 80's producuing so much Crap
The Groups that were once proud to be different are nothing more than tribute acts to themselves and nearly as bland as the Here and Now nostalgia tours
Here we find the Bunnymen losing all thier dignity and credibility
They have made an embarrassing record that bears no resemblance for waht they represented.
If they had done this 25 years ago then perhaps they would have been as big (or as crap) as U2, but at least that would be excusable.
This is yet another Ian McCulloch Solo record thinly disguised as a Bunnymen recording.
But the with half of the real Bunnymen missing what else could you really expect.
The cryptic and mysticism has gone to be replaced with a Spice Girl chart friendly tune that is eeasly forgotten.
McCulloch still swaggers, Wil Sergeant don't care and the rest are a revolving door of session musicians who are sacked if they disagree.
Well 30 years on from the debut Crocodiles I'm probably listing in the past, trying to recapture my long lost youth and Crystal Days.
The Bunnys are now aging rockers almost a parody of themselves. I do not think that the young "indie" or "Coldplay" kids will cherish them or find a place for them in their hearts.
Its a shame because if the Bunnymen now lose (which i predict)lose thier integral hard core fans form the mists of time they will wiriting their own epitaph
This record is commercial Scucide.
