I do not use the word detestation lightly Jack.

Ted "What shall we do with him folks?" ... Campers "Chuck him in the pool!" Oh the hilarity ...

Not as good as Comsats
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

ted was once on the same filght as me to portugal. he kept walking up and down talking to people. i pretended to read the paper - not that i minded talking to him but i get very shy. about week after we got back there was a big centre page spread in the Sun - 'how i beat the booze to save my marriage' by the bloke who plays ted bovis, which seemed a bit odd considering the amount of he put away on two flights. there thats my 'famous person' story. i keep trying to work it up into a mildly amusing anecdote but it seems i dont have the talent.

You have much in common with "Ted" in that case.

actually i have an even less interesting hi-de-hi encounter. was walking along bournemouth pier with the kids one summer evening and a bunch of people came out of the bar about half way along. amongst them was some woman dressed in very bright clothes. and i mean VERY BRIGHT. it says something about your average brit holiday maker that i should notice this, but it was like one of those photos in black and white where one thing is on colour (you know what mean? - loud.) anyway about half an hour later i realised that it was that mad woman who plays the cleaner - a subtle hint might have been that there was a picture of here on the pier theatre bill board.

Big fan of 30 Rock.

I'm also a big fan of 30 Rock.

I'm not big Amy Poehler fan (Baby Mama anyone?) but she surprisingly doesn't grate so much on Parks especially as the series has progressed. The supporting characters are well developed (much like how they did in The Office) so it's not the Amy Poehler show.

Another one that looks to be decent is Modern Family, but it looks to appeal more to the ladies than the gents. Ed O'Neil (Al Bundy) is in it, so you can't go wrong there.

I once saw Liv Ullman in the airport waiting quietly for her flight.

That's it for me.

I met Yakov Smirnov in a hotel in New Haven CT.

I said 'hi' to Bruce Springsteen walking down the street in South Hampton.

I once bumped into Freddie Starr on the North Pier at Blackpool in 1975.

youre getting a bit modern for my tastes there hip. I bought a series fo the young ones on DVD a while back and dont think its stood the test of time at all. not that bits weren't funny. Bottom was much better than the young ones but by that time they'd learnt a thing or too I suppose. Having said that its funny (in a 'not funny is the new funny kind of way) that the so called 'alternative' comedy largely just went back to what laurel and hardy and all those dudes were doing 50 years ago, i.e., not exactly 'new'. or something.
