Still hard to judge complete album, but Amazon has posted up snippets of all The Fountain tracks now.

Deffo sounds like a Mac solo album though. In addition to Forgotten Fields, Everlasting Neverendless and The Idolness of Gods sound interesting.

I think I am going to like this album based on what I've heard. Mac's voice sounds good and I like that big sound for them instead of trying to sound like some indie band with no budget.

TINIT and November (full versions) are on up on Spotify. I like November.

And you call yourself a Bunnymen fan.

But . . . that is what they are.

Maybe I shouldn't have said "trying to". I think some gloss on their sound is a good thing and I'm glad they did it this time.

I am joking. It seems indie has taken on the meaning of a particular sound. It was a ong time ago, but I do miss it meaning simply a band not on a major label with something even slightly different about it.

As bashful as ever Ian McCulloch affirms "It's our best album since 'What Are You Gonna Do With Your Life?' No actually, I'm gonna say it's the best album since 'Ocean Rain'. 'The Idolness Of Gods" is possibly the greatest song I've ever written".

He came out with the same old bollocks when Siberia was due to be released. No-one believes him any more, I don't think he believes it himself.

it has but it depends on who you are talking to. you might find yourself talking to some kid who thijnks its a bit of doof doof doof dance music knocked up in the back bedroom, as opposed to, you know, our indie. kids eh.

And of course, if you don't believe the hype you get the wrath of some his most trusted disciples, while the words that come out the mouths from some back at Church of the Almighty Bunnygod back in Liverpool is even worse. Shades the damnation that the Christians gave Judas Iscariot got after he went running to the Romans.
