Krautrock

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

I love it. In fact a bit too much.

Anyone else?

There are times when I feel I could smash my collection of porcelain shire horses up if I listen to La Dusseldorf too loudly.

Here are my fave LPs (sorry for umlaut emissions German chums)

La Dusseldorf - La Dusseldorf
Walter Wegmuller - Tarot
Can - Monster Movies (well, all of Can's LPs from first to last)
Holger Czuckay - Der Ost Ist Rot
Amon Duul2 - Yeti
Cluster - Sowiesoso
Harmonia - Deluxe
Witthusser & Westrupp - The Jesus Mushroom
Faust - The Faust Tapes
Neu! - Neu! 75
Moebius & Planck - Rastakrautpasta

Love them, Affenstunde, Einsensjager und Siebenjager, I like a lot of Fricke's later film work too.

I really love lots of these LPs, (T-Dream, Ash Ra, Klaus Schultze, Rother's solo LPs, etc etc ) just tried to pick my ultimate favourites which seems to centre on the Dusseldorf / Cologne scenes for some reason.

Krautrock supremos Harmonia are re-releasing their seminal album Tracks and Traces.

The LP, which was released when Brian Eno formed part of the Harmonia line-up, is currently out of print but a new expanded version of the record is set for release on September 18.

As well as the original album in full, the new version will also feature three never before heard tracks
