Man I can't believe all the moaners on this site and how you basically hate just about everything they do post 1985. I was always a Bunnymen fan but I was the biggest U2 fan ever. And then Bono started getting under my skin and then I just couldn't get into the music any more. I haven't bought U2's last three cd's and I try to avoid there video's and any news about them and I definitely do not go to any of there websites, official or not official sites. I basically had enough of U2 about ten years ago and I don't bother with them any more. Maybe some of the people who constantly moan about the Bunnymen should do the same.

Yeah I can't believe that at fifty years old he really should sound like he did when he was twenty five. I think a bunch of you guys should find a new band to follow so you don't have to keep trying to act like twenty five or thirty years haven't passed.

For someone who claims to be a life-long fan, who, therefore, should know more then someone who has only liked the band for "seven years", he doesn't seem to have much to say other than moan about negativity or paste up news. A total of 27 posts came up under his name, including those two, a couple of news stories and one asking for a password for tickets.

If he was a fan, as he says he is, then surely we'd hear his views on the album(s) or the gigs? I think it is all a bit suspect.

I have no problem with fans who still dig the Bunnymen the same way as they did 20 years ago. I envy that kind of enthusiasm but the "if you don't like it leave" attitude grew tiresome back on the Official Forum years ago and especially doesn't belong here.

We're the hippie commune of Bunnymen fans.

I like the hippie commune status. I hardly post over there anymore and just stick to here because it was getting too much and slightly boring. You can still read posts by people tip-toeing around if they feel that they don't have anything positive to say. There is little to say over there per se.

Good luck to those who have liked the Bunnymen since the beginning. Most of the music I liked in 1980-85, even most of the early 1990s, I have moved on from. While I still kind of have a soft spot for some the stuff when I hear it, mostly out of nostalgia, I could never have stuck with the same bands for 30 years without getting bored.

Exactly. I've been a fan since '84 and saw the original lineup live and anyone here can tell you I have no idea what I'm talking about.

I think though 12 years is sufficient to come up to speed with the Bunnymen's back catalogue and background. Other than not seeing them live until 1998, it's not like I had never heard of them before that or had not heard any of their music. I just wasn't a fan of their music and a rabid one at that.

According to one of the reviewers on Amazon, it takes ten years to understand any Bunnymen album. Improves with age.

you let that Tecate age too long and it's Montezuma's Revenge gringo.

Sounds pretty good, based on the snippets and songs I've heard, I'm most looking forward to Forgotten Fields, Shroud of Turin, Drivetime, Everlasting and Idolness of Gods. The break/bridge in Life of A Thousand Crimes sounds exactly like one of the songs on Slideling.

I do like the big sound on this album, but it seems like at least a few of the songs are missing something, they just sound so basic, for lack of a better word. None of the instruments really stand out on at least a few of the songs.

I wonder if Will gets a guitar solo on this album, or something that says, "Hey, I'm here playing guitar." Everlasting sounds like that song. The single, too.

TGOGP got it right. Will will be a special guest on the album and that seems to be about all. I remember in that interview when he let on that this album was more of a Mac affair.

I thought The Fountain sounded pretty good from the snippets on amazon.co.uk.

Have you listened to the Janice Long interview yet, BF? It's interesting what Ian says about his relationship with Will.

Also, she plays "Sweet Caroline" by Neil Diamond at Ian's request. (YAWN) I wonder if Ian knows that Neil Diamond has admitted that the song was inspired by Caroline Kennedy when she was about 10 years old.

Kind of skeeevy, in my opinion.
