Echo & The Bunnymen are playing the tiny Mercury Lounge in NYC on October 17th. That's more than a month before they're back in town to play the much larger Hammerstein Ballroom as part of their North American tour in support of their new album. Stay tuned for more details.

UPDATE: Tickets are going on sale Friday.

They're playing NYC Oct. 17, Boston Oct 18 (both small venues) and then they have to be in Toronto on Oct 24. (I'm thinking the Jimmy Kimmel appearance on Oct 23 is or has already been taped. Maybe that's what they were doing in the U.S. last week along with their press tour.)

I wonder if they'll book other small(er) type venues for Oct 19 to Oct 22/23. Perhaps Philly or D.C.? Just a thought.

I would rather see a Fountain gig in L.A. over the Ocean Rain show at the Nokia. That could cause me to cancel my self imposed exile.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Yeah, but don't you think they'll do The Fountain gig for the first half of the show? You would be getting two for one!

Yeah, it really sucks. My weekend is free, I just don't have the money right now.

thought they were playing the Nokia Theatre in L.A. on Oct. 24? Kimmel on the 23rd makes good sense then.

Black Francis ... still time to get your tickets.
