Editors

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Editors

Got the new album today "In This Light....." very impressed I have to say and a fairly radical departure from the last album which was very poor. Very keyboard based sounds like early New Order ans Simple Minds in my opinion, well worth a listen folks...

Jimbo, what are we going to do with you? I listened to it earlier on We7...its horrific. Its like early Ultravox (and I dont mean John Foxx early) crossed with A Flock Of Seagulls.

First Keane did it, now Editors...get the synths out for a "radical" reinvention. Er...no. Its crap lads.
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

Sorry Scouser, on this one I'm with Jimbo. I like its Ultravox/Flock of Seagulls sounding melodies. Synths and more synths I say. I'd even go for dodgy big haircuts as well if they were in. Certainly doesn't bear any similarity to Keane's last album, which was really appalling.

Didn't they get the memo, you're supposed to incorporate "middle eastern" elements when trying to expand your horizon as an artist? It's supposed to be the second album though.

I saw them live and wasn't very impressed but I'll give this new album a go.

Third album, so it should feature an orchestra throughout, to be played 20-odd years later in its full entirety at the Royal Albert Hall, Radio City Hall, Birmingham Echo Arena, Paris du hehoarhehoar theatre, etc.

I "saw" them live at the Alexandria Palace last year (if you count seeing them on large screens). Awful venue and shit gig. One of the worst.

I like synths. That being said, sounds like Dark Wave.

Like the guy Wayne Hussey from the Mission UK singing for Bronksi Beat. Ot any of the Dark Wave bands that came out in the 90s.

I'm reconsidering my position regarding Wayne Hussey's Sisters of Mercy contributions considering Andrew Eldritch hasn't done shit in God knows how long. I still hate the Mission UK though and trying to start a band called The Sisterhood was a bitch move also. I'm pretty sure I remember them playing on the Joan Rivers show one upon a time.

I saw The Sisterhood play at Birmingham Powerhouse the night they changed their name to The Mission. After totally confusing everyone playing Wasteland first which we all thought was a cover of Marian ,Hussey said "We're not called the Sisterhood anymore.......we're called The Mission",the backdrop came down and they launched into 1969.Eldritch was there too.Liked Serpents Kiss than the dreaded Tim Palmer ruined the album.Got quickly bored of them.

The Sisters output up to First and Last is great.

Ha, I actually like Vision Thing. Ribbons is like number 20 something on my top ten all time greatest songs list. They're still great live but I can't afford to pay good money for nostalgia acts anymore. Gotta be the real thing before I spend my kid's college money. My wife loves The Mission (__). God only knows why.
