This sold out in minutes. Does anyone have an extra ticket that they'd like to sell?

Wow, that would have been cool to go to. Good luck getting tickets Chris! Sounds like it is going to be an amazing show! Did you get any tickets ITM?

Yes, I got one. I'm surprised it sold out so quickly. I got my ticket for the HOB show in November a week after they had gone on sale and it reflected it was the third general admission ticket sold. (To be fair, the box seats and stadium seating seats have sold out.)

I wonder how many this venue holds. The ticket is a "will hold" thing so maybe I'll take a ride over there to scope things out.

I truly hope they do more than the greatest hits set.... I don't think I want to hear the same 10 songs in back to back months.

Cool you got tix. Maybe they will surprise and shake up the set.

It must be somewhat inspiring to have done the OR songs. How about The Puppet or Over Your Shoulder.

The world does need idealists and dreamers.

Here's the setlist:

Going Up
Show Of Strength
Villiers Terrace
Forgotten Fields
Stormy Weather
Seven Seas
Dancing Horses
All That Jazz
Think I Need It Too
Back Of Love
Killing Moon
The Cutter
Nothing Lasts Forever
Lips Like Sugar

The whole thing lasted just over an hour with no encore. Ian seemed subdued while Will was on fire. He was scorching the guitars for each song and was extremely animated, the most I've ever seen him move. He played the red Fender and the 12 string teardrop (I think I got that right) and others.

The sound system was terrible so the mix was off, but Ian was making an effort to (and mostly did) hit the high notes. He must read this board because he left the nasty lyrics out of The Killing Moon; they were still in for Villiers Terrace, though. (I chuckled to myself when VT started up given this board and all.) His vocals were not raspy and croaky at all.

TINIT was must faster paced than on the record so to me it sounded better than the recording. All That Jazz was blasted/pounded out. During that song I realized that no other band could have written that song, and no other band could ever bring it to life like these guys. I thought of you BF during All That Jazz and how much you're going to miss as you boycott the band's live shows. It made me sad.

Ian asked for Katy at one point. That's not my name.

The Cutter sounded great.

Ian got or was wearing new clothes -- a double breasted peacoat and jeans that fit and, I think, didn't have any rips in them. BRAVO. I couldn't tell if he had shaved, the lighting was from behind him. He's very thin like he was during the 80s.

Overall, a very exciting evening. Add in the snowfall, the nor'easter and the Patriots winning 59-0 (and the Bills winning too, WAH), and it was a fabulously wild day.

Don't feel bad for me. I talk a lot of shit but I wouldn't be surprised if I made special guest appearances at L.A. Bunnymens shows.

You forgot to mention the Vikings. I embarrassed the missus yesterday while we were having lunch at BJ's brewery. Favre tosses that 58 yarder with three minutes to go and I lept from my chair, pumped my fist and shouted "yes!"
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

That's because CBS cut off the Vikings game to go to Foxborough right about that time.

Re-reading my thoughts on the show last night made it sound like all was gravy and the show was fantastic. Truth be told, the show was average and it appeared that Ian wasn't really interested. Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't. I don't know. I can't speak for him.

Regardless, I was glad to see them. They looked good and sounded good (from what I could tell with the sound system) and the upcoming OR shows should be decent. I mean, what more do you want?
