The Obligatory Depeche Mode thread

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

What lyrics!

I want somebody to share
Share the rest of my life
Share my innermost thoughts
Know my intimate details
Someone who'll stand by my side
And give me support
And in return
She'll get my support
She will listen to me
When I want to speak
About the world we live in
And life in general
Though my views may be wrong
They may even be perverted
She'll hear me out
And won't easily be converted
To my way of thinking
In fact she'll often disagree
But at the end of it all
She will understand me
Aaaahhhhh....

I want somebody who cares
For me passionately
With every thought
With every breath
Someone who'll help me see things
In a different light
All the things I detest
I will almost like
I don't want to be tied
To anyone's strings
I'm carefully trying to steer clear of
Those things
But when I'm asleep
I want somebody
Who will put their arms around me
And kiss me tenderly
Though things like this
Make me sick
In a case like this
I'll get away with it
And in a place like this
I'll get away with it
Aaaahhhhh....

I like this DM thread because it is always quality over quantity.

I love Depeche Mode.

America does not have an electro-pop band that can rival this British electro-pop band.

You fool! Ever hear of a little band called OMD?
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

OMD are British

Lets give up chasing the grumpy faced guy thread...that or post 100 Youtube clips (which Im sure none of us can be arsed doing).
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

Nine Inch Nails is pretty good. No Depeche Mode but I'll give them the electronic tag. I wouldn't have minded seeing NIN with Gary Numan just recently.

Never got into Devo though.

Neither did I.

I went to see Gary Numan a few months ago, he's bloody loud now!

The best was when withahip and I walked into a shitty bar near my home and the 50 something year old cover band was playing a pretty good version of "Cars" of course the next song was Play That Funky Music. We knew we were in for a treat that night.

It sounds it. I wouldn't mind hearing that.

Depeche Mode never followed the angry noise electro trend. That always surprised me. Quite a cash cow, that one.
