Noel quits Oasis

We know there is more to life than the music of the Bunnymen. Talk about those other bands here.

Noel quits Oasis

Rejoice! Rejoice! Rejoice!

The shittest band in the Universe are hopefully no more. Good fucking riddance.
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

What kept them? Hats off (or donned), I'm surprised that they have kept going that long when the likes of Blur (split and reform), Pulp, Elastica, Suede and Echobelly have long gone. Even those that soldiered on ended up self-releasing albums that nobody wanted to buy.

Oasis, Tony Blair, Britpop, Cool Britannia. RIP.

At long fickin last!

How many times does it make this that Noel has quit?

On The Shoulder of Giants I felt the two songs sang by Noel and Don't Look Back In Anger showed he had a voice that could take his song writing beyond the snotty rotten shtick of Liam's.

Noel staying with Liam this long as the last two albums made barely a blip was surprising in itself.

Coldplay not dead, unfortunately, just always smelled v. off.

well after the solo albums there's the reunion tour to look forward to so dont despair. anyway theres a coulpe of minor classics in there but peaking on your first album does have its drawbacks i suppose. but better than not peaking at all, probably.

saw em once and they were quite dull really but even from the back of a field you could see liam had the 'i'm just going to stand here and sing but youre still going to look at me' factor. mind you we all know what can happen if you dont feed that from time to time.

They have a few songs here and there I like, but really seemed like The Stone Roses minus the talent.

Great first album, passable second album...then a whole career built round The Fountain

Anyone think this is just a stunt to get them back in the entertainment news and create a buzz again since their songs really aren't doing that anymore? I predict he'll be back in a week. Otherwise maybe Noel can live his dream of doing Tuesday Prime Rib nights at the Ground Round.

Wait a sec...is that dig at Noel actually a veiled dig at Mac?

The sickness runs deep.

Did I spell veiled right? It doesn't look right.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

what?? hugely over rated band. four good songs at the most I'd say. though they did have the sense to knock it on the head before they were found out - hence this rather stupid comment.

'Intimidation' behind Oasis split

"And the lack of support and understanding from my management and bandmates has left me with no other option than to get me cape and seek pastures new."
