RIP Senator Edward Kennedy

Senator Edward "Ted" Kennedy dead at 77 of brain cancer

Whether or not you agreed with his politics, Kennedy was a tireless public servant.
And before you ask, withahip - no, I wasn't alway a fan, and no, I didn't have any of his records.

Reunited with Mary Jo Kopechne at last.
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Bet you had to consult Wikipedia for the correct spelling of her last name.

"Ted Kennedy was shot?"

(name the film)
Mr. Brian, I find that offensive.

Scouser's inability to se others' point of view is rather grating.

Actually I am familiar with the spelling as I sought out all I could find online after seeing one of those A&E documentaries on the topic.

The spelling of the town I'll probably never get right: Chappaquidick

I was wrong: Chappaquiddick is the correct spelling.

Sorry, some things should not be overlooked even in death when we're all doing the feel good eulogies. If Kennedy cared more for that woman than his political career she would probably still be alive.

Speaking of eulogies, do you think the Bunnymen will ever bring Buried Alive back into the set? That and SuperMellow Man were actually the two good songs off Flowers but they don't play them anymore.

(are we still playing this game?)

It is going to require a bit more effort on everyone's part if we are.

That was tough for a lot of Democrats when Kennedy ran for President and lost in 1980.

I think mostly from the more progressive wing. From a recent NPR story:

When he did run for president in 1980, it was as an intraparty challenger to Carter, the incumbent. Kennedy saw Carter as squandering an opportunity for progressives to guide the nation, but Democratic primary voters gave the nomination to Carter. Although Kennedy initially positioned himself for another try in 1988, he took himself out of the running early.

The main hurdle was running against a sitting President of his own party.

I wish the Bunnymen would start using the Get Carter theme again as an intro. That was really something. Second only to the Gregorian Chants.

This is a fun game. In a way its more fun because I am the only one playing.

Gregorian Chant, now that puts one in mind of Gregory's Girl. That came out in '81, same year as HUH. Pity they don't play HUH or All I want live anymore. hmmmph.

Yeah I read somewhere they want to try being a happy successful pop band now. They are walking out from blackened skies and finding themselves in bluer skies. Hey! They can now play In Bluer Skies now!

This is fun! Thanks JackT!
