Mac's such a great guy isn't he though. I wish I'd bought a ticket for one of the Christmas gigs now just in case the mood takes him.

True. The band can never be written off. They have risen from the dead more times than Lazarus. It's just that I am getting a bit tired waiting. But this time Mac needs to pack in the smoking once and for all. I want him to be that alien rock god I once worshiped.

C'mon Cheese, Mac has a lot of pressures on his time. He follows Liverpool Football club, that's two Saturdays out of every month, plus European games. He then has to have a drink after the game with an ex-Liverpool pro. That's another day written off with a hangover. Then we have all the Kenny Dagleish charity do's to attend.....and so on.

We should be grateful that we still receive classics like Forgotten Fields. Are you really complaining about spending 79p on something so beautiful? You are not painting a particularly pleasant picture of yourself Cheesey.

Didn't a great philosopher once say "I yam what I yam"?

We would be a cheerful bunch if it weren't for Dr. Cheese
With the Force as his ally he did battle with the Dark Lord. And he showed the measure of a true Jedi at a place called "The Death Star" where hope for the Galaxy was reborn. May all who struggle against tyranny hold his memory in their hearts

Wouldn't it be great if some us "synics" could get that old feeling back, that old spark of excitement. A new Bunnymen single. Yipee! A new Bunnymen album. Yipee! A tour. Yipee! The same setlist as during the last tour to support the new album. Yipee!

Back in those days, I even got excited about Flowers when it came out and was quite in agreement with someone on the official forum pointing out that Flowers was worth the wait because of the instrumental bit in the middle of Eternity Turns. Yessiree, I was happy with spending £12 on an album purely on the basis of one track having a 30 second burst of distorted guitar and a wind-sounding noise while Mac softly sang the words "I will find you".

If only I could get that magic back.

But that was 8 years ago! We are old "synical" pickled onions who want to return to the days of yesteryear.

I was watching the Porcupine videos on youtube the other day.
They excited me and reminded me why I loved this band.
Then I remembered that the band I was watching no longer existed and it made me sad.
Then I thought of how they are today and it made me sadder.

Part of me thinks they should have split again after Evergreen, it would have been a magnificent comeback and added to their legend. As it is the longer they drag it on the more they seemingly sully that legend.
That's my opinion anyway, others may disagree but I don't really care.

i personally dont wanna go back.

the first 3 /4 albums for any group are usually the best.

i just hope the unheard fountain tracks are better than the heard ones.

mac was more animated then and has slowed down i guess.

he always seems pissed with everything

maybe he needs a new job. hope it works for me
start a new one monday

they did!!!!! and two, a mere half of the original lineup, carried on using the name. i think if they had changed the name at that point everything would have been brilliant. they would haver been better and everyone would have listened more and not thought, oh no its that tosser from the band with the funny name and we would have been really really cool for buying all their records regardless of the quality.
